The Power of Laughter: How Our Funders Make a Difference

At The Humour Foundation, we witness the magic of laughter every day. A shared giggle, a playful moment, or a burst of joy can transform hospital corridors and aged care facilities, bringing comfort to those facing some of life’s toughest moments. This wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of our funders, whose support ensures that our Clown Doctors and Laughter Care programs continue to reach those who need them most.

Bringing Laughter to Hospital Bedsides

Across Australia, our Clown Doctors provide moments of levity and joy to children undergoing treatment. We are grateful to all the organisations who support our program delivery, some of which generously commit to a full year of regular visits, transforming hospital stays into spaces filled with play and laughter.

In WA, our weekly visits are supported by the Stan Perron Charitable Foundation at Fiona Stanley Hospital, and by Channel 7 Telethon at Perth Children’s Hospital.

The Humpty Dumpty Foundation ensures that young patients continue to experience the healing power of humour every week across two states – at the Queensland Children’s Hospital and at the Royal North Shore Hospital in NSW.

Also in NSW, generous support from Mounties Group and a collaboration between Wenty Leagues Club, Dooley’s Catholic Club, and Guildford Leagues Club allows our Clown Doctors to bring moments of joy two days per week to young patients and their families at The Children’s Hospital, Westmead.

“I think the program is fantastic and it made such a nerve-wracking and anxious time into a fun one where our child wasn’t scared and even wanted to go back.” – Parent

Elevating the Spirit of Aged Care

Laughter is not just for children, it has a profound impact on older Australians as well. At Flinders Medical Centre (SA), the Masonic Charities Trust has enabled us to expand our Laughter Care program, helping aged care residents experience the emotional and social benefits of playfulness and connection.

A Lasting Impact, Made Possible by You

Through these generous contributions, our Clown Doctors and Laughter Care specialists will reach around 50,000 people transforming hospital rooms and aged care facilities into spaces of joy, resilience, and connection. Every joke shared, every smile exchanged, and every moment of levity is a testament to the incredible support of our funders.

To all those who make this work possible – thank you. Your generosity ensures that laughter continues to shine through when it is most needed.
